From May 6 to 8, 2027, Einbeck, Germany, will become the center of the international G-Class community. The Mercedes-Benz Geländewagen Club e.V. is celebrating its 40th anniversary and pursuing an extraordinary goal: together with as many G-Class drivers as possible, the club aims to set a world record at the PS.SPEICHER in Einbeck.
For more than four decades, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class has captivated enthusiasts around the globe. From its origins as a rugged utility and military vehicle to expedition and overland vehicles and today’s premium and luxury models, the G-Class stands for off-road capability, durability, and unmistakable character.
To mark this special anniversary, as many generations and variants of the iconic off-roader as possible are expected to gather in one place. Participants will include early G-Models, former government and military vehicles, expedition vehicles, customized off-road builds, and current production models.
World Record Attempt with Hundreds of G-Class Vehicles
The highlight of the anniversary weekend will be the planned G-Class World Record Convoy on Saturday, May 8, 2027. Starting at 11:00 a.m., hundreds of G-Class vehicles are expected to set off together and form one of the longest G-Class convoys ever assembled.
The goal is ambitious: up to 1,000 vehicles could gather in Einbeck. Whether the final number reaches 500, 800, or even 1,000 G-Class vehicles will only be known on the day of the event. One thing is already certain, however: seeing such a remarkable variety of G-Class vehicles in one location will be a unique experience, even for long-time enthusiasts.
Three Days Dedicated to the G-Class
The celebrations begin on Thursday, May 6, 2027, with the official 40th anniversary event of the Mercedes-Benz Geländewagen Club e.V.
On Friday and Saturday, participants can look forward to a diverse program around the PS.SPEICHER. Planned attractions include a vendor area, food trucks, and a variety of activities and opportunities for drivers, families, and visitors to connect and share their passion for the G-Class.
On Friday evening, guests are invited to relax and celebrate around a campfire with live music and a great atmosphere.
For those who prefer a more authentic G-Class experience, a large camping area will be available nearby, allowing participants to spend the night in, on, or next to their own G-Class vehicle.
Open to All G-Class Drivers
The world record attempt is expressly open to all owners of a roadworthy Mercedes-Benz G-Class. Membership in the Mercedes-Benz Geländewagen Club e.V. is not required.
Visitors without their own G-Class are also warmly welcome. They will have the opportunity to experience the unique diversity of the G-Class, watch the world record convoy, and celebrate this special anniversary together with fellow enthusiasts.
With this event, the club aims to bring together G-Class drivers and fans from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and many other countries, creating a celebration that extends far beyond the club itself and showcases a shared passion for the legendary G-Class.
