A new customer for Magna: Series production of the PEUGEOT RCZ in Graz is under way
Magna Steyr proudly announces that the series production of the Peugeot RCZ in Graz has been under way since the beginning of the year. The Peugeot RCZ is the first complete vehicle program which PSA Peugeot Citroën has awarded to Magna Steyr.

Following approximately two years of development, Magna Steyr launched the series production of this new sports coupé at the beginning of 2010 at its plant in Graz. The number of vehicles is planned to reach 20,000 by 2011.

By means of virtual development, Magna Steyr was able to dispense with the need to build a physical prototype generation, and succeeded in developing the vehicles from concept to production readiness in under two years.

Magna-CEO Siegfried Wolf comments: “Being able to attract a new customer and a new brand to Magna with this comprehensive contract is something we are all very proud of, and comes as further testimony to our complete vehicle competence.”

Günther Apfalter, President of Magna Steyr, added: “As always, we will work with full commitment and dedication on this vehicle program in order to fully justify the trust of our customer PSA Peugeot Citroën and satisfy all of their expectations.”

The Peugeot RCZ celebrated its world premiere at the International Auto Show in Frankfurt and will be available on the market from April 2010.
